sandals tutorial

No doll is complete without shoes, but shoes are kind of tricky to do well. Sandals are easy, and look really snazzy when done.

1. Open your finished doll.

2. Zoom in on her feet. If you want, and your graphics program supports layers, you can create a new layer just for the shoes.

3. Select a dark brown color for the soles of the sandals. I'm using #5D350D. With your pencil or 1-pixel paint brush, draw around the doll's foot. If her feet are very close together, you can color over her foot in places to keep the sandals from running into each other.

4. On the near side of the foot, go over the line again to make the sole thicker.

5. Draw two lines across the top of the doll's foot, close together, to make the toe strap. Draw another strap around her ankle.

6. Select a lighter brown, and color in the straps.

7. Repeat the process to draw the other sandal.

8. You're finished! Your doll is ready to go out on the town :)
